Bruckner grew up in Hollywood, California with a Hungarian mother and a Russian father. The couple has divorced. Bruckner's German-speaking paternal grandfather has passed away. In Hungary the parents of Bruckner initially met before moving to America in 1984 via the refugee settlement of Italy. She has two brothers, and also have two sisters.
